Undersun Fitness’ Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will the door anchor damage the door?

Because of the soft foam used for the stopper, the door anchor should not damage your door, if placed properly. The sharp edges on some doors may damage the door stopper over time, so periodically check your anchor for damage, and replace if necessary.

  • What is the door anchor for?

To get maximum results from your Undersun Resistance Bands, you’ll want to incorporate some anchored exercises into your routine. In a gym, or even an outdoor park, you can easily anchor your bands around a piece of equipment, but the door anchor will allow you to do the same with any door in your home, office or hotel. Make sure to check out one of the TA2 training programs for a variety of anchored exercises for each muscle group.

  • What bands come in a set?

Each full set of Undersun Resistance Bands comes with 5 different levels of resistance, from X-Light, Light, Medium, Heavy and X-Heavy. These are the 5 most frequently used resistance levels, and when paired together you can create countless levels of resistance, for any exercise.

  • Do I need to wear gloves when working out with bands?

For the best grip, and to avoid wear and tear on your hands, we recommend using gloves when working out with resistance bands.  Look for gloves with padding the goes all the way to the edge of the palm, which is where the pressure from bands is placed. You may also want to use full-finger gloves as some exercises place more pressure on the fingers.

  • What if one of my bands break?

Under normal circumstances, your Undersun Resistance should not break, but considering they are made from natural latex it can happen, especially if not used properly. In most instances, when a band breaks, it is due to repeated over-stretching of the band, or damage caused from a sharp or rough edge at the anchor point. Any breakage due to faulty manufacturing is covered in our 1-Year Limited Warranty. Please contact Customer Service if you experience a broken or damaged band.

Over time the natural latex in the band can be damaged due to oxidation. To avoid injury please inspect your bands for any damage, before each use. If you notice rough edges, nicks, or pitting please make sure to replace your bands immediately.

  • How big are each of the Undersun Resistance Bands?

Each of the five different size bands are 41” in length, and 82” in circumference. The X-Light band is roughly ¼” wide, the Light is ½”, Medium is ¾, the Heavy is 1 ¼” and the X-Heavy is 1 ¾”.

  • Is there a heavier resistance level than the extra-heavy band?

One of the great things about resistance bands is the portability, so why haul around more bands than you need? If you want to go heavier than the X-Heavy band, just stack it with another band for more resistance. For example, the X-Heavy band paired with the Heavy band equals a maximum resistance of almost 200 pounds. That’s a lot of resistance for 2 bands that barely weigh more than a pound.

  • What are the different resistance levels of each band?

The level of resistance varies depending on how much the band is stretched, but the chart below gives an estimated average range of resistance per band.

    • X-Light resistance band: 5-15 pounds
    • Light resistance band: 15-25 pounds
    • Medium resistance band: 30-60 pounds
    • Heavy resistance band: 45-100 pounds
    • X-Heavy resistance band: 50-120 pounds
